Packaging Prototypes:
As you can see by my process photos, I created many different 3D mockup versions of my packaging box to figure out what I truly wanted in my design before designing each of the panels on the box.
Packaging Dieline:
When designing my dieline, I wanted to make a triangle shaped box since my whole brand is about being sharp. I included a slight curved edge into my dieline on the bottom of the front panel, and this design element serves its purpose when the boxes are being displayed flat. When six of the boxes are placed together, with the points facing inwards, then the curved element of the box mimics the shape of a spiderweb. You will be able to see this in a mockup later in this brand presentation.
Product Packaging:
It's important to note that my design features a die-cut in the front of the box, that way the customers can see the product inside the box, and they know exactly what color of product they are getting without being confused by the gradient or having to damage the box. This is shown with the lighter circles on my designs. The products that Arachnid mainly focuses for these mockups are bluetooth headphones, microphones, and turntables.
As I mentioned before, each box is designed with a slight curve on the front bottom edge so that when six total boxes are placed together flat with the tips of the triangles facing towards the center, then the boxes give off the illusion of a spider web shape. This allows the boxes to both be displayed vertically and flat, allowing store employees to create unique product displays.
